I never thought I would say, “I am in Cosmo!”

I read a lot of articles regarding college admissions. Usually these are in relatively scholarly publications. But, especially now, we all need a little fun. I love this article in Cosmo. It contains great advice on what would have been helpful to know before college and, of course, I love being quoted. My husband has started to tell anyone who will listen that his wife is in Cosmo! #college #university #admissions #CommunityCollege #freshman #HighSchool #Finances

Pure Joy (even during a pandemic)

Let's face it.  The past few months have not been easy and, yes, that is an understatement. With social isolation and uncertainty, fear and anxiety have reared their ugly heads. I try to find some good in every situation but even I have found that difficult lately. But it would be impossible to not be moved by the moment of pure joy in this video. The “dreaded” personal statement!

Now is the time when high school students are tackling the "dreaded" personal statement. Students can use this as a time of exploration rather than drudgery. Maybe it is going a bit too far to say that it is fun, but my students are proud of themselves and what they learn through the writing process. I am honored to have been quoted in the article below. https://outwittrade.com/how-to-write-a-college-application-essay/#terry
