On the Road Again!
University of South Wales – The University of South Wales is the largest university in Wales. This thriving, modern university has a reputation for excellent teaching, a growing recognition for international research excellence, first-class facilities and outstanding student support. All courses are designed with post-graduation work in mind and many lead to professional accreditation. Here are some of the highlights:
- Campuses – The University of South Wales has five campuses, each with a distinct character. The Cardiff campus is known for its creative studies located in the capital city with inter-disciplinary creative arts studies all under one roof. The Newport campus is best known for business, hotel management and hospitality. The three campuses in Pontypridd are in the rolling hills of the South Wales Valley and include business and engineering subjects as well as the Sport Park.
- Film and TV Programs – The University of South Wales benefits from its location in Cardiff, the second largest center for screen industries in the UK and one of the largest in Europe. Students at the university participate in internships with Netflix, Amazon Prime, BBC Global, Lucas Films and many independent companies. Students regularly take trips to sets and participate in master classes. The programs are very collaborative with students working across disciplines in all aspects of the film and TV industries including film, media production, cinema, motion graphics, animation, set design and performance, to name a few. With over 100 work placements, the university has a vocational orientation and connections in the industries, setting up students for employment upon graduation.
- The Sport Park – The Sport Park has state of the art physical education facilities that are used as classrooms for students studying sport and exercise science, sport and exercise therapy, soccer and rugby coaching, as well as sports and business management. There are cameras in each of the gyms so students can review games and work on coaching skills. Work placements are integral to these courses. The University of South Wales partners with many local sports clubs and associations.
- Affordability – Tuition ranges from $18,000 to $21,000 depending upon the subject and exchange rates. Scholarships are also available.
